Natural/Curl Client Cut Services

  • A curly haircut is the method of dry cutting curls in order to see the natural fall and shape of the hair. On average, a curly haircut takes about an hour and a half to two hours but may vary depending on the density and dry time of the hair. A first-time curly haircut service includes a consultation, detox, treatment, cut and a dry/diffused style. Come with your hair as is. Curly hair booking options are under Natural/Curl client options and are based off of the density of hair. This is only for time purposes so that I know the estimated time it may take for your hair. For children’s hair services, please come with your child’s hair as detangled as possible to make it easier for me and for them. Any mattes that need to be detangled will result in an added detangling fee.

Children’s Hair Services

  • For child hair services, please come with your child’s hair as detangled as possible to make it easier for me and for them. Any mattes that need to be detangled will result in an added detangling fee.

  • Please do not select Kid/Child service for children ages 13 years or older, they should be booked under adult services.

  • If your child has special needs or sensory integration, leave a note in the notes section in booking so I can be prepared and accommodating during their appointment.

Things to Know Before Your Color Service

  • All client services begin with a thorough consultation to fully understand the needs and desires of the client. Some may involve a test strand to proceed with the service. It is important for you to be open and honest about your hair health and history during these consultations in order for stylists to consider all possible scenarios and give you the best experience when it comes to your hair. Questions to expect during the consultation is as follows:

  1. What is your inspiration for your hair appointment today? (Providing multiple inspiration pictures and pictures that are similar to the clients hair texture and style are best for the stylist AND client to better understand the desired results may look like on the client.)

  2. When was your last color appointment and what service did you receive? (color, toner, highlight, etc.)

  3. What concerns do you have with your hair today?

  4. How much heat do you put on your hair, if any?

  5. Have you had a straightening treatment, keratin treatment, relaxer, and/or perm done on your hair in the past, and if so how long ago?

  6. Do you have any scalp or hair conditions that I should be aware of? (allergies, sensitivities, etc)

  7. Are you pregnant, breastfeeding, or have given birth within the last year?

  8. Are you taking any medications? (Some medications can alter the results of hair color so it’s important to share this with your stylist so they can formulate your color accordingly. Some hair loss is a side affect from taking medications as well.)

  9. How often do you wash your hair?

  10. What shampoos, conditioners, and products do you use on your hair?

  11. How do you wear your hair most days?

  12. How do you wear your hair to sleep?

  • Please note hair chemicals such as hair color, perms, relaxers, keratin treatments, and other chemicals have the risk of certain side effects such as redness, scabbing, bruising, scarring, swelling, tenderness, and/or hyperpigmentation. If you knowingly have a scalp or skin sensitivity, please make stylist aware so they can use proper precautions.

  • Dramatic color transformations require a consultation involving a test strand. These appointments can take up to 12 hours so please book and plan accordingly.

  • All colors and toners are subjected to fade overtime. A normal fade out time should be gradual and anywhere between 4 weeks to 12weeks. The rate at which color fades depends on which color you received at the time of your service, the color of your hair prior to your service, the porosity of your hair at the time of your service, and your hair maintenance and care routine at home. With following these proper hair care instructions, your color should last you through the time frame listed above.

  • For all colors, please come with your hair free of product build up. Color does NOT take better on dirty hair. Color lifts and deposits more fluidly on clean hair. Washing your hair the day or night before your appointment is ideal.

  1. Wait at least 3 days (if your usual wash time is more than three days then follow your usual wash routine) to wash your hair after your color service. Washing too soon can cause the color to fade much sooner than it should.

  2. Wash your hair in cool water so the color doesn’t fade out sooner than it should.

  3. Do NOT go swimming in a chlorine filled pool before your first wash after your color service appointment. Chlorine is a chemical that can alter hair color as well as strip it out of the hair. These preventive steps are listed below that can help your color from fading after pool activity:

    - spray water into your hair until its damp

    - spray your favorite leave in conditioner through your damp hair (I like to use Bumble and Bumble Hair

dresser’s Oil Primer). This acts as a barrier between your hair and the pool water.

  4. Using excessive heat on the hair after a color service is capable of lifting the color. Avoid using high heat (anything above 375 degrees Fahrenheit) on your hot tools setting and only pass through the hair one time to avoid lifting.

  5. Sun exposure gradually lifts color so use preventative measures when being in the sun. (Wearing a hat, applying the products listed in #3 to the hair before going outside).

  6. Using color-safe shampoos and conditioners can help color last longer.

  7. Hard water is common in certain regions which can cause dryness in the hair and may also be a factor in color fading. If your home has hard water and you are concerned about color fading or the health of your hair, consider buying a water softener.

  8. Minimize hair washing to 1-2 times a week.

  9. The health or aesthetics of your color or other chemical services is not guaranteed if you do not follow our salon instructions and use the proper and recommended products and techniques on your processed hair. After receiving a chemical service, your hair will require more nourishment and care. Using products with cheap, unnatural, and stripping ingredients may cause damage or breakage to your hair.

  10. Results of chemical services may vary, especially on compromised/damaged hair such as previously lightened, heat damaged, or chemically treated portions. Everyone’s hair will respond differently to color or bleach, and in some cases will not be able to hold color as well as expected. I always work to ensure that I perform services in as healthy a way as possible and always work toward getting as close to your ideal aesthetic as possible. It is important to know that photos used for inspiration are considered just that and I cannot 100% guarantee that your hair will look identical to the inspiration shown.

  11. Please arrive with your hair clean, color does not work better on dirty hair. I REPEAT, color does not work better on dirty hair. That is a myth. Please come with your hair free of heavy buildup. You do NOT have to wash your hair right before you come for color but at least within the last 24-48 hours would be ideal.

  12. Please be advised that inspiration photos are just that, inspiration. Coming in with an open mind gives the stylist opportunity for their creativity and discretion to be met based on your hair needs.

A brief description of each service I provide is as follows-

  1. All over blonde- this involves an all over bleaching application and blonde toning

  2. A balayage highlight- dimensional color combo with soft color results. This is a less dramatic version of highlights and is considered more subtle.

  3. Babylights is a highlighting technique used to create less dimension and a soft blend from dark to light but with more vibrancy than balayage results. Babylights has more coverage than the average highlight or balayage techniques.

  4. Multicolored Hair- this ones for more than one creative color such as pinks, purples, blues, reds, etc.

  5. Double process root touch up- this includes a bleach application just on the roots and a toner.

  6. Toner- this is a single process, deposit only color application.

  7. Single process root touch up- this is a root color application.

  8. Face frame highlights and tone- this is for clients wanting lighter pieces directed more in the front of the face, is often considered a highlight touch up

Ways to Prevent Breakage

  • Avoid using elastic or skinny hair ties on your hair. Consistent stress on the same area of hair can cause breakage in those isolated areas.

  • Avoid using soley oils on hair, instead incorporate in your deep conditioning mask. Although they do have health benefits, they sometimes can be counterintuitive and actually dry your hair out more by clogging your pores, blocking moisture from penetrating the hair. Castor, Marula, or argan oil are better options to use to incorporate in your hair masks.

  • Sleep on a silk pillow case (reduces friction in your sleep)

  • Wear a silk bonet

  • Detangling your hair should be as followed- comb your hair in shower with conditioner in it, it will make detangling much easier and gentler on your scalp, start by using a wet brush on your ends and gently work your way up. If you have to finger detangled first, start with that.

Policies

  • If you are concerned or unhappy with the results of your service and request a corrective service, that is to be verbalized to the stylist within 72 hours of your service date. Anything verbalized after that will not be considered a corrective service. Corrective services do NOT include the case that you have “changed your mind” on the color you received after the time of your appointment.

  • If you are under the age of 18 years old, your appt is to be booked through a parent or guardian.

  • All services are non-refundable.

  • I understand that unforeseen circumstances happen and you may need to cancel or change an appointment. In order to respect the time of other clients and myself, I ask that you notify me of a cancellation or reschedule no less than 24 hours prior to the appointment. Appointments that are cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the start of your service, will result in 50% of the cost of services you are reserved for. The fee will be charged to the credit card that is on file to secure your reservation.

  • If an appointment is no showed, you will be subject to a no show fee charge of 100% of the total amount due for services, and possibly serviced on a walk-in only basis.
